News of a Fun Illustrator Event, Perms & Benny the Cat
Hello Sketchbugs,
Happy February! The air is upsettingly warmer than it should be and Chinese New Year is almost upon us (also the Super Bowl but I don’t care about that). There are exciting events afoot, one specifically this month in the Haverford/Philly area!
Main Line Art Center Event:
Children’s Book World is hosting “From Shelves to Studios: Meet the Illustrator Day” at the Main Line Art Center on February 25th from 12pm to 3pm.
Click HERE to register for free!
(From the CBW website)
The studios will be filled with artists who illustrate children’s books and they would love to share their work with you!
See their art and talk with them to learn their techniques and their inspirations.
Their books will be available for purchase.
These illustrators will be waiting to meet you!
Julie Benbassat (yours truly)
And if you come to the event and buy a book you might be able to get a postcard and a little merm sticker! So stop on by if you’re in the Haverford area!
In Other News…
Besides the big event news I got a perm! Lowkey, I’ve always wanted wavy hair so this is a dream come true. It’s been an interesting adventure learning to maintain it but I’ve really enjoyed swaying the curls back and forth and putting on a fun headband when I have to work. Who knew getting a new hairstyle would make me feel so free?
AND LASTLY….MY ROOMMATES GOT A CAT. Well, technically they adopted a cat from a friend who adopted it from a friend. So, he’s an eccentric little guy with an eccentric past.
His name is Benny and he is an orange cat with one eye, 1 brain cell, and lots of love to give. He is very needy for pets and headbutts so it’s been difficult trying to manage work while giving him his daily dose of attention and snuggles. I’m finding a balance, or trying to anyway.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this short post. A more substantial one is coming soon!
Cute!! I also have a one-eyed cat that wants to sneakily drink toilet water 😅
Benny has such a nice color palette. ✨
